Professor Mughal is quite simply the best .. He has treated me for some years now and at all times I have felt extremely reassured and confident that I was receiving the best advice and treatment.He is thorough and explains everything carefully and answers questions clearly .I would recommend him without reservation.

Professor Mughal puts the patient front and centre throughout the entire process. From the first consultation, I felt he really listened and understood my complex history but he also was incredibly thorough trying to get to the root cause of my condition. I immediately felt very safe in his hands. During my hospital admission, he was always available to me and to my family to address any concerns or to provide updates. He is an absolute professional whilst caring and considerate. I am so grateful to him and all of the Consultants on the team who cared for me.

I highly recommend Prof Mughal, he is a very professional very well prepared, kind, approachable and extremely able surgeon.
I had an 11 hour long total oesophagectomy which saw me back to my normal activities with minimal recovery time and no consequences. I could not be happier and grateful to my surgeon. Thank you Prof. Mughal!

In December 2020 I underwent an oesophagectomy performed by Professor Mughal and his team at The London Clinic. A major and certainly lengthy operation and quite a challenging experience for the patient. However, from the very first consultation, through to the operation itself and the 14 days spent in recovery at the hospital, Professor Mughal made the entire process seem like a walk in the park. He is a delightful person with a consummate bedside manner and vast experience. The mention of his name to any medical member of staff in the hospital always brought forth comments about his skill, kindness and, inevitably, how lucky I was to be under his care. The procedure went perfectly and his excellent, experienced team were superb at handling the (relatively) routine difficulties during the recovery process. I'm now in my second year of six-monthly follow-up consultations with him at the Cleveland Clinic. I could not recommend him more highly, not least because my operation was indeed a life-saver. He has a special place in my heart. A remarkable man.

I truly believe Prof Mughal has saved my life; I genuinely do not know what would have happened to me without him. I was referred to him by Mr Andrew Jenkinson, another excellent surgeon, for a total gastrectomy. This was a major surgery of course, and I am a complicated case with many surgeries behind me in the same area, I really needed the best there is, the real expert; and this is exactly what the Prof is. From the moment I met him I knew right away that I had the right person; so professional, so caring and empathetic, any worries I had just disappeared. On the morning of surgery I wasn't even nervous, his skill and confidence just put me at ease. His aftercare was also just perfect, either himself or one of his team came to see me every single day in my 12 day stay at the Cleveland Clinic. To say that I thought my life could be over before I met him is no exaggeration, but here I am, just 6 weeks later, and I am already so much better than I ever thought would be possible, it's astonishing. I cannot actually express how grateful I am to this man, thankyou so so much for everything.
