EndoTest: what is it, and how can I benefit from it?
Escrito por:Top Doctors recently had the pleasure to speak to highly distinguished London-based consultant gynaecologist, Mr Mahantesh Karoshi. Here, the revered women’s health specialist explains what an EndoTest is, describes how exactly the procedure is performed, and outlines how it can benefit patients.
What is an EndoTest?
This new test EndoTest, which is used to treat endometriosis, is based on gene sequencing and the use of artificial intelligence. It can accurately detect endometriosis by sequencing microRNA from saliva using something called Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
In its early days, EndoTest has shown to be slightly superior in terms of performance, compared to all currently available diagnostic tools (laparoscopy, MRI, pelvic ultrasound).
It has been developed by a French company, and has been validated by one of the largest clinical studies for endometriosis, in collaboration with up to six French centres specialising in endometriosis.
What are the benefits of using EndoTest?
The main benefit of using EndoTest is that it can quickly confirm or exclude the diagnosis of endometriosis. The diagnosis made is very accurate and reliable.
Other benefits include:
- early treatment of endometriosis
- single test to diagnose endometriosis
- optimises fertility care
- limits the quality-of-life deterioration
- avoids invasive testing and costs related to laparoscopy and complications associated with it
How is it performed?
Performance wise, EndoTest is non-invasive and is a very patient-friendly and easy-to-use test. It reliably detects endometriosis and removes doubts in the most complex of cases.
