Ревматоидный артрит - это хроническое дегенеративное заболевание, которое вызывает воспаление суставов . Областями, наиболее затронутыми этим типом ревматизма, являются запястья, пальцы рук и ног, локти, плечи, бедра, колени и лодыжки. Воспаление сустава вызывает боль, деформацию и затруднение перемещения, так как хрящ изнашивается, а отделенные кости втираются друг в друга. Причина этого заболевания неизвестна и в настоящее время не имеет возможности лечения.
