Mr Gurdeep Singh Biring is an award-winning consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon with over 25 years of experience. He is highly proficient in minimally invasive primary joint replacement, including hip/knee replacement, revision hip/knee replacement as well as hip arthroscopy and knee arthroscopy. He additionally specialises in sports injuries, joint pain and PRP injections.

Mr Biring, who currently sees private patients at The Chiltern Hospital, King Edward VII’s Hospital and Spire Thames Valley Hospital, obtained a bachelor’s degree in pharmacology and medicine and surgery from the University of London. He undertook his higher specialist training on the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital rotation and was appointed member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1999. He was later awarded a masters with distinction in orthopaedic engineering in 2003. Soon after, Mr Biring won a surgical research grant for a specialist fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons.

As a trusted expert in his field, Mr Biring completed fellowship training in hip and knee reconstruction at the internationally-renowned Vancouver General and Health Sciences Centre. In addition, Mr Biring is also fellowship-trained in hip resurfacing, revision joint replacement and minimally invasive surgery, having accomplished a European travelling fellowship by the British Hip Society and a hip arthroscopy travelling fellowship, which he completed at the highly esteemed Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado.

Mr Biring remains actively involved in research. In 2010, his research into hip disease was recognised with a legacy award. His numerous academic contributions are widely published and he also held the position of reviewer for the Bone and Joint Journal for a number of years. In 2007, Mr Biring was appointed as a consultant at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, where he has held numerous senior positions throughout his career, including arthroplasty lead. The trust awarded him the Davenport Research Award in 2010 to research into the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement.

Mr Biring constantly works to improve patient pathways, offering a patient-centred approach that utilises contemporary restoration techniques and enables an enhanced recovery.
