Mr Hussain Alnajjar is a highly specialised consultant urological surgeon and andrologist based in central London. He is an honorary associate professor at UCL. With more than 18 years’ experience, he is renowned for his expertise in male infertility, erectile dysfunction and penile prosthesis surgery, Peyronie’s disease, male genital cancer, male hypogonadism (low testosterone) and priapism. Mr Alnajjar’s practise focuses on performing penile prosthesis surgery, genital reconstruction procedures, male genital cancer surgery (penile and testis cancers), microsurgical sperm extraction, vasectomy and vasectomy reversal. He also sees patients with all general urological conditions.
Mr Alnajjar is fully trained in all disciplines of urology and andrology. Having completed pre-clinical medicine at St Andrews University, Mr Alnajjar qualified with a medical degree from University College of London in 2005. This was followed by a Masters surgical degree in urology from the University of Edinburgh, with distinction. From there, he undertook his rotational training programme across London’s leading hospitals, including the Royal Marsden Hospital, before going on to achieve higher surgical urology training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. In 2017, Mr Alnajjar accomplished an advanced fellowship in surgical andrology and genito-urethral oncology at the renowned specialist andrology unit at University College London Hospitals, further refining his skills in all aspects of male health. Mr Alnajjar is dually qualified as a fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the European Board of Urology.
Additional to his clinical responsibilities, Mr Alnajjar has contributed greatly to research with more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and 14 book chapters, including a chapter in the Oxford Handbook of Urology. He is also an MRCS examiner for The Royal College of Surgeons of England, and a member of the European Board of Urology examination committee. Mr Alnajjar has been recognised multiple times for his clinical and academic achievements, including with the coveted Urolink Travel Award in 2011.
