Dr Krishna Soondrum is a highly regarded consultant paediatric gastroenterologist based in London. His areas of expertise include abdominal pain, coeliac disease, acid reflux, malabsorption syndromes, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), endoscopy and colonoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), paediatric nutrition, and intestinal rehabilitation for complex gut conditions.
Dr Soondrum, who consults privately at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, originally qualified from the University of Hamburg in 1999. He holds fellowship to the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, and also has an MSc in Clinical Paediatrics from University College London. Dr Soondrum completed his basic paediatric training at St George’s Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital, and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children.
With a commitment to excellence, Dr Soondrum successfully completed the prestigious national training programme for paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, which included rotations at renowned institutions such as King’s College Hospital, University Hospital of Wales, and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Dr Soondrum currently leads the intestinal rehabilitation service for North West London and is an active member of professional organisations including the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, as well as the British Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. As an expert in diagnostics, Dr Soondrum also serves as the departmental lead in paediatric endoscopy, contributing his expertise to the development of national guidelines and standards.
