Dr Rima Clayton

Dr Rima Clayton is a leading consultant dermatologist based in Reading with over 20 years’ experience who specialises in both adult and paediatric dermatology, offering solutions for a wide range of skin conditions, including acne scars, hyperhidrosis, and seborrhoeic dermatitis. As a specialist, she has particular expertise in dermatologic surgery for the treatment of skin cancers, such as melanoma.

Dr Clayton is one of the founders of the renowned Derma Reading dermatology clinic, where she currently consults privately. She originally qualified from Imperial College London in 1999, obtaining both her MBBS and an intercalated BSc in Clinical Sciences, and completed her higher specialist training in Oxford with focus on skin cancer management. Her further interest in paediatric dermatology was acquired later on, after undergoing additional training at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

In addition, Dr Clayton is on the GMC’s specialist register and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. She currently works and is a member of two skin cancer multidisciplinary teams at the Churchill Hospital and at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where she served as clinical lead as well in addition to her regular consultant duties. With a passion for dermatology, Dr Clayton is especially proud of the aesthetic results of her clinical practice, helping her patients to achieve nearly invisible scarring on many occasions.
