Mr Adrian Fawcett is a highly experienced consultant general and colorectal surgeon in London who specialises in anal fissures, anal fistulas and bowel cancer alongside cholelithiasis (gallstones), haemorrhoids (piles) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Mr Fawcett privately practises at New Victoria Hospital and his NHS base is Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust where he is a colorectal consultant and general surgeon.
Mr Fawcett further specialties lie in rectal cancer, where he applies his extensive experience in endoscopy (OGD), keyhole hernia repair and the treatment of skin lesions. His proficiency in these areas has been honed through years of practice and research.
After graduating from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1989, Mr Fawcett completed his junior surgical training in North West Thames, earning his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1993. He then undertook research at Charing Cross Hospital, focusing on the impact of microvascular disease on colonic anastomotic healing. This research, which led to the publication of several papers and a Master's degree from the University of London, underscores his commitment to advancing surgical knowledge and improving patient outcomes.
Following his research, Mr Fawcett completed his registrar training at prestigious institutions, including West Middlesex University Hospital, Charing Cross, and Chelsea and Westminster, and obtained his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2000. His early career included significant roles at St Mark’s Hospital, a leading centre for colorectal disease, where he served as a Resident Surgical Officer and later as a locum consultant.
Since 2002, Mr Fawcett has held a consultant appointment at Kingston Hospital, where he has continued to provide exceptional care in both colorectal and general surgery. His dedication to the field is reflected in his active involvement as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), as well as his membership in the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI).
