Dr Ameet Bakhai is a highly experienced cardiologist based in London. His expertise includes cardiac risk factors, cardiovascular disease and prevention, angina and heart attacks with expertise in advanced heart failure, valvular heart disease, atrial fibrillation/flutter and atypical chest pain.
Dr Bakhai trained at St Mary’s, St Bartholomew’s, Royal Brompton, Beth Israel Deaconess and Royal Free Hospitals. Dr Bakhai did a scholarship year at Harvard Clinical Research Institute and Harvard School of Public Health. His research interests include large cardiac registries and trials, quality of life and cost-effectiveness. Dr Bakhai undertakes ward rounds, coronary angiography, heart improvement clinics, echocardiography, permanent pacing, appraisals, student education, audits and research.
Dr Bakhai s a member of UCL partners task forces in heart failure, stroke prevention and atrial fibrillation. He is part of an NHS London clinical leadership group for end of life care. He is a scientific advisor to NICE, health technology appraisal, pharma and device manufacturing companies and clinical trial organisations.
