Mr Ashutosh Tandon is a leading consultant general and benign upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgeon based in Cheshire and Warrington. He focuses principally on laparoscopic general and benign upper GI surgery including gallbladder, groin hernia and anti-reflux surgery.
Prior to his consultant role, he was trained as a general surgeon in South Yorkshire, Liverpool, and Oxford. He completed a fellowship in bariatric (weight loss) surgery at Churchill Hospital Oxford where he also gained experience in treating complex upper GI cases. He was trained at the Institute of Medical Sciences Banaras Hindu University, a prestigious institute in India, for his basic medical and surgical training before coming to the United Kingdom.
In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Tandon takes a keen interest in teaching general surgical trainees. He is a Royal College of Surgeons tutor for basic and advanced surgical skill courses. He is also a trainer for upper GI diagnostic gastroscopies.
