Miss Carol Tan is a renowned consultant thoracic surgeon with over 20 years of experience in her field. Her expertise includes minimally invasive surgery, thoracic oncology, and chest wall reconstruction.

She graduated in Medicine from the University of Bristol in 1997 and later specialised in cardiothoracic surgery at prestigious institutions such as Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. Additionally, she has contributed to pivotal clinical trials, such as the UK multi-centre MARS and MARS 2 trials on pleural disease.

Miss Tan currently serves as Clinical Lead for the Thoracic Surgical department at St George’s Hospital, where she practices with a focus on innovative surgical techniques and patient-centered care. She is highly regarded for her involvement in medical education, having been the SCTS Thoracic Surgical Tutor from 2017 to 2020 and now Co-Chair of the SCTS Education Committee. She also maintains a private practice at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital.
