Mr Conrad Schmoll is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon and ophthalmologist based in Edinburgh who specialises in cataracts, cataract surgery and paediatric ophthalmology, including children's eye problems such as cataracts in children, squint surgery and diplopia (double vision). His NHS base is NHS Lothian.
Mr Schmoll is highly qualified. He has an MBChB from the University of Pretoria in South Africa, and undertook his specialist training in Edinburgh where he achieved an MRCSEd from the Royal College of Surgeons. Following this, Mr Schmoll was awarded an FRCOphth from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and undertook a paediatric ophthalmology fellowship in Cape Town in 2015.
Mr Schmoll, who is enthusiastic about all aspects of ophthalmology, performs adult phacoemulsification cataract operations with outcomes that exceed UK national standards whilst delivering paediatric ophthalmic services aligned to his commitment to high quality patient-centred care.
Mr Scholl's research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, participating in research, education and management activities for his NHS trust. He's a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
