I really appreciated how much detail Miss Maratos went into in explaining my condition whilst doing so in layman's terms.

I highly recommend anyone who requires a neurosurgeon to visit this incredible lady, she was very thorough and caring and took time to explain things in a simpler way. I trust anyone receiving treatment under her care will receive the highest level of care. She is a true asset.

Ms Maratos was so kind, considerate and caring during my stay at Kings. She checked on me daily, even on some of her days off and explained everything to me in a clear manner. I couldn’t have wished for anyone better than her for my surgery and couldn’t be more grateful.

Ms Maratos is amazing; she is caring, kind, considerate and takes time to explain things in detail. She made me feel safe and performed an amazing craniotomy procedure on me. I will never forget her skill and kindness. I would highly recommend her.

I had an L4/L5 Discectomy, at Kings with Ms Maratos and I cannot rate her highly enough. It was a severe herniation and she made me aware of all the risks and possible complications. It was 4 hours of surgery but it was 100% successful. I took her advice rather than other surgeons advice and have been walking, 3 days post surgery, a minimum of 6 miles a day every day wind or rain. She advised me to be active since it helps healing. She is right; all leg pain has gone and I only have slight numbness in my foot which is also reducing. She also managed to avoid any dural tears with me. I know some surgery can be difficult and go badly but I know Ms Maratos would treat all patients to the best of her considerable ability. I was offered a surgeon who worked in the private sector with numerous acolades and letters after his name but I chose Ms Maratos and would again. I really cannot rate her highly enough. The NHS and its patients are exceptionally fortunate to have Ms Maratos on its payroll.

Serious, gentle, utterly committed, her communication skills and frequent visits made my operation life-enhancing as well as life-saving. In 10 days, I have full movement in arms and legs, with already much improved muscle tone in my legs. I cannot thank you enough.

Dr Maratos is a wonderful doctor. From when we first met on the ward she took the time to explain exactly what was wrong with me with the help of X rays, what my treatment would be, and reassure me about the outcome. She had a delightfully warm and approachable manner. I saw her twice as an outpatient and she again took the time to explain how I was progressing and as before was friendly, approachable and utterly professional.

Dr. Maratos in my opinion was absolutely amazing from the beginning of my very scary ordeal and throughout my surgery and care. She reassured me but was honest in such a lovely caring way, explaining everything in complete detail which was easy for both myself and husband to understand. I will be forever greatful for the care I received from her and feel very lucky to be in such great hands! There is nothing I can say to suggest any improvement, I was treated with absolute professionalism from start to finish. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Maratos, she truly is my hero!!
