Professional statement

Mr George Tsermoulas has been serving as a consultant neurosurgeon at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham since February 2017 and holds the position of honorary clinical associate professor at the University of Birmingham.

His neurosurgical career began in Greece, later continuing in the UK, where he completed advanced training in Newcastle and Birmingham. He further refined his expertise with a fellowship in Toronto, Canada, specialising in neuro-oncology, skull base, and pituitary surgery.

Mr Tsermoulas has extensive experience in adult neurosurgery, with particular expertise in managing cerebrospinal fluid disorders such as hydrocephalus, Chiari malformation, and syringomyelia. His practice also includes brain and skull base tumour surgery, including meningioma treatment, and endoscopic pituitary surgery.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Tsermoulas holds a Master's degree in clinical research from Newcastle University and participates in various clinical trials. He also completed a postgraduate certificate in global health from the University of Toronto, contributing to humanitarian efforts abroad.
