Mr Guirgis Awad is a highly experienced consultant plastic surgeon based in Sheffield, with clinics in Rotherham and Birmingham as well. He specialises in breast reconstruction (microscopic surgery) and breast corrective surgeries. Mr Awad obtained his medical degree with honours from Cairo University, Egypt, in 2003. He later completed five years of plastic surgery training and earned a Master's degree in plastic surgery in 2010 from the same university. After moving to the UK in 2010, Mr Awad underwent seven years of further senior-level training in prestigious plastic surgery units, including three senior fellowships in trauma and reconstructive surgery, breast microsurgery, and cosmetic surgery. He became a Fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery (FEBOPRAS) in 2015 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Plast) in 2017. He has been a full-time consultant in the NHS (with sub-specialist interest in breast reconstruction) since 2018 in Bristol, East Grinstead and Chelmsford, before moving to Sheffield.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Awad is deeply committed to education and training. He serves as an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Sheffield, where he leads educational workshops and contributes to the development of future surgeons.
