Dr Howard Marshall is a distinguished consultant cardiologist who has been serving at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital since 2000 and practising privately at The Harborne Hospital.
After earning his medical degree from Leeds University in 1988, he pursued advanced training in cardiology in the Midlands, where he also completed an MD from the University of Birmingham. His research primarily focused on atrioventricular node ablation and pacing as treatments for atrial fibrillation, demonstrating his early commitment to advancing cardiac care.
During his time at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Dr Marshall has played a pivotal role in developing the pacing and defibrillator services, establishing the largest centre for these treatments in the region. His collaboration with Dr Mike Griffith has also been instrumental in expanding the hospital's ablation services, making it one of the leading centres for atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation in the UK.
