Dr Joe Datt is a leading consultant neurodevelopmental paediatrician based in London. His expertise extends to neurology, rare pediatric disorders, and developmental care, particularly in relation to mental health conditions like autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Additionally, he has a strong interest in neonatal and paediatric diet, nutrition, well-being, and sleep.
Dr. Joe's research encompasses rare paediatric diseases, including Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS), paediatric multiple sclerosis, haemophilia, sickle cell anaemia, beta-thalassemia, X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), Vitamin D deficiency, achondroplasia, primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs), and paediatric cancers such as astrocytoma and neuroblastoma. His work spans small-molecule therapies, biologics, and gene therapy.
Dr Datt’s academic background includes a BSc in Biological Medicinal Chemistry with Drug Design, a postgraduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine from Oxford, and an MBBS from the University of East Anglia. He has pursued further postgraduate certifications in Child Health and conducted research on gastroesophageal reflux disease and leukaemia at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Maryland, USA.
In 2024, Dr Datt was honoured as a fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FFPM) by the Royal College of Physicians, celebrating his 26 years in pharmaceutical research and development. He is also a postgraduate tutor and examiner for the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, where he serves as a revalidation appraiser for the Royal College of Physicians.
