Mr John Butler is a distinguished consultant gynaecologist based in London. His areas of expertise include gynaecological cancers, complex pelvic surgery, minimal access gynaecological surgery, trachelectomy, and risk-reducing surgery for BRCA. He is accredited as both a specialist gynaecologist and sub-specialist in gynaecological oncology by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Mr Butler consults privately at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital. With over 20 years’ experience, he also practises for The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and notably serves as a clinical advisor to the International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership since 2009. In addition, Mr Butler is a member of the clinical reference group for the National Cancer Intelligence Network and the early diagnosis committee for Cancer Research UK.
Mr Butler qualified from Imperial College London in 2000. He then undertook training at St Mary’s Hospital before completing higher specialist training in North West London, including registrar roles at Queen Charlotte's, Chelsea and Westminster, Hillingdon, and Northwick Park. Mr Butler went on to accomplish subspecialist training in gynaecological oncology at St Bartholomew's and the Royal Marsden Hospital, with additional training in Toronto.
