Mr John Winslow Hamilton is a renowned ENT surgeon based in Cheltenham. He sees patients at Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital, Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Ramsay Winfield Hospital. Mr Hamilton's special interests are cholesteatoma, otosclerosis and other ear diseases. He is an expert in stapedotomies and ossiculoplasties.

He's the most experienced cholesteatoma surgeon in the UK and has performed nearly 2000 cholesteatoma operations, 600 of these surgeries were carried out on children. Mr Hamilton has also performed over 500 stapedotomies. Mr Hamilton is an active researcher which has also allowed him to fine-tune his stapedotomy techniques.

Through his research, he also developed a surgical technique of laser removal of cholesteatoma through hearing bones during surgery. Mr Hamilton is a pioneer in his medical field and is responsible for the widespread adoption of laser techniques in cholesteatoma surgery. He has actively researched conditions related to the eustachian tube and middle ear throughout his career and continues to work on related topics with the University of Cambridge and St George's Hospital.
