Dr Khsama Wechalekar is a London-based Lead Consultant in Nuclear Medicine, specialising in nuclear imaging of the heart and lungs. She has particular interest in using hybrid imaging techniques in order to improve the understanding of pathophysiological processes affecting the heart and lungs. Dr Welchalekar trained as a nuclear physician at the Radiation Medicine Centre in Mumbai, with further training at the Royal Brompton and Royal Marsden Hospitals in the UK, which provided her with specialist knowledge in nuclear cardiology and oncology. She also teaches students at Imperial College and King's College London, providing training for nuclear cardiology. Dr Wechalekar is the treasurer of the British Nuclear Cardiology Society, and is published in several peer-reviewed journals, along with writing book chapters and review articles. She has presented both nationally and internationally, and has been on the review panel for several nuclear medicine journals.
