Professor Maralyn Druce is a leading endocrinologist who specialises in thyroid dysfunction, pancreatic disease, neuroendocrine tumours, and polycystic ovarian syndrome. Upon completing her clinical training at University College and Middlesex School of Medicine, she undertook higher medical training in diabetes, endocrinology, and general internal medicine, and was later awarded a Wellcome Trust fellowship which earned her a PhD. She continues to be active in the field of research and focuses on endocrine effects of cancer therapies, pathophysiology, and the diagnosis and localization of insulinoma. Aside from being a clinical reader in endocrinology, Professor Druce is also an associate dean for undergraduates, and programme director and chair for a number of professional bodies.
