Mr Matthew Waites is a highly regarded trauma and orthopaedic surgeon based in Halesowan. He specialises in total hip replacement, total knee replacement, and partial knee replacement and is extremely experienced in performing these procedures. Mr Waites has a special interest in enhanced recovery and consistently offers superb results for his patients.

Mr Waites laid the foundation of his inspiring career at the legendary St Bartholomew’s Medical College in London, where he gained his MBBS. He also completed higher surgical training on the London, South West Thames rotation at St George’s Hospital, renowned for its high standard of patient care. Furthermore, after completing his studies and training, he went on to complete a research fellowship at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, USA. This later followed with a clinical fellowship in joint replacement surgery and knee sports injuries in Sydney, Australia. Mr Waites furthered his extensive knowledge at internationally renowned centres such as the Royal College of Surgeons, where he completed two fellowships.

Between 2014 and 2017, Mr Waites served as the clinical director for surgical specialities at the Dudley Group of Hospitals. Mr Waites continue to use his breadth of experience to enrich the knowledge of surgical trainees and allied health professionals. Mr Waites is passionate about offering optimised care, providing surgical patients with rapid recovery, highly functional outcomes and minimising post-operative pain, ensuring they can go back to their daily routines as soon as possible. Mr Waites is a highly regarded member of the British Association of Surgery of the Knee, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the British Orthopaedic Association.
