Dr Matthew Winter is a highly revered consultant medical oncologist who specialises in breast cancer, chemotherapy, genetics of cancer, immunotherapy, as well as hormone therapy. He is presently practising at Sheffield Oncology, an esteemed clinic that specialises in palliative and curative cancer treatment. He is also currently the lead breast cancer clinician at the Sheffield-based Weston Park Hospital.
Dr Winter, who is also an expert in gestational trophoblastic disease, completed his specialist medical oncology training in Sheffield, which notably included a clinical doctor of medicine research degree in breast cancer, which was obtained from the University of Sheffield in 2011. Not long after this, Dr Winter would be appointed as a consultant medical oncologist at Weston Park Hospital, before obtaining the same role at Sheffield Oncology.
Dr Winter, who has, to-date, published an impressively extensive amount of articles focusing on both breast cancer and gestational trophoblastic disease in various different peer-reviewed journals, is also an honorary reader in the department of oncology and metabolism at the University of Sheffield, as well as the director at the Sheffield Trophoblastic Disease Centre. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the European Organisation for the Treatment of Trophoblastic Disease.
