Mr Maziar Mireskandari is a leading consultant vascular surgeon based in central London who specialises in varicose veins, complex aortic conditions and carotid artery and stroke prevention alongside endovascular and open surgery for aorta, lower limb arterial problems and endovascular and open surgery for the lower limbs. His private practice is based at Cromwell Hospital,19 Harley Street, 77 Wimpole Street and Royal Brompton Hospital where his NHS practice is based.
Mr Mireskandari qualified with an MB ChB from the University of Leeds. He also has a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). He underwent surgical training in London, which included his doctorate research project that led to receiving his MD.
He became a consultant in 2008, and as an expert in open and endovascular minimally-invasive surgery for complex aortic disease including aneurysms, dissections and occlusive disease, Mr Mireskandari performed his NHS trust's first complex stent for extensive aortic aneurysms.
Further to his clinical innovation, he led his NHS trust's first simulation training course in aortic valve and aortic pathology stenting in 2016.
Mr Mireskandari has had his research published in various peer-reviewed journals, and is a member of various professional organisations. These include the European Society of Vascular Surgery, the Society of Vascular Surgery of Great Britain and Ireland and the Royal College of Surgeons.
