Mr Milind Dalal is a consultant in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Spire Fylde Coast Hospital. He graduated from Bombay University in 1989 and trained as a general surgeon, earning the fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) qualification. He began his plastic surgery training in 1992 in India, where he obtained an MCh(Plast) from the University of Bombay. He continued his training in plastic surgery in the UK, completing higher surgical training in the West Midlands and earning the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship in Plastic Surgery FRCS(Plast).
Mr Dalal has completed fellowships in Cosmetic Surgery at McIndoe Surgical Centre, East Grinstead, and in Microsurgery at Chang Gung Hospital, Taiwan.
Mr Dalal performs a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. He has a busy practice in Preston, Chorley, the Fylde Coast, and East Lancashire, focusing on skin cancer treatment, breast reconstruction, and hand surgery. He is also a leading expert in hypospadias surgery, providing the largest training resource for this procedure in North West England.
Mr Dalal is involved in research and education, with over 40 publications and presentations at scientific conferences. He supervises master’s students at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) in research on cell growth of scar tissue around breast implants and computer modelling of blood vessel flow in microsurgery.
As the clinical director in plastic surgery at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Mr Dalal oversees a department serving about 1.2 million people in North West England. He is an invited member of the Specialist Advisory Committee (SAC) in Plastic Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, London, and a member of the Intercollegiate Committee for Core Surgery Training. He is also an examiner for the FRCS(Plast) examinations and was previously the chair of the Plastic Surgery Training Committee in North West England.
