Mr Pavlos Pavlakis is a highly skilled consultant urological surgeon based in London. He specialises in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of prostate and bladder cancer using robotic urological surgery.
With participation in over 1000 robotic operations Mr Pavlakis has particular expertise in robotic cystectomy and robotic prostatectomy. After graduating from Sapienza University of Rome, Mr Pavlakis earned a Master's degree in Robotic Surgery from the prestigious University of Paris Pierre and Marie Curie. He completed his general urology training in Greece and subsequently pursued three additional fellowships in advanced urology in Sweden, the UK, and the USA.
These fellowships included a reconstructive urology visiting fellowship and a post CCT robotic urology fellowship specializing in prostate and bladder cancer. In 2019, Mr Pavlakis joined the Clinic St Joseph in Belgium where he performed several of the hospital's first complex procedures, including a Johansen stage 1 urethral reconstruction, first robotic Retzius sparing radical prostatectomy, and introduced the transperineal prostate biopsy approach.
Mr Pavlakis currently has his NHS post at the Southend University Hospital. Mr Pavlakis sees his private patients in Cromwell Hospital, and Harley street London. Drawing on his extensive international training and clinical experience, Mr Pavlakis is renowned for his skill in performing robotic radical prostatectomy, including standard and Retzius Spare approaches, circumcision, short frenulum reconstruction, flexible cystoscopy, hematuria, PSA investigations, prostate biopsy, prostate enlargement management, kidney stone treatment, hydrocele surgical repair, and epididymal cyst excision.
Mr Pavlakis has decades of research experience. His academic work has been widely published in international volumes and peer-reviewed journals, focusing on robotic assisted treatments, cancer detection, and renal trauma.
