Mr Peter Hamlyn is a highly esteemed and respected consultant neurological and spinal surgeon based in London. Having a special interest in spinal disorders and sports injury, he has held some of the most prestigious positions in his field, has significantly improved the provision of medicine in many sports, and was a member of the 2012 Olympic committee advisory panel. Many of Mr Hamlyn's procedures involve minimally invasive surgery, restorative and reconstructive surgery and he has a strong focus on head injuries in sport. He was responsible for the care of the boxer Michael Watson, who suffered severe neurological damage during a boxing match, Mr Hamlyn helped him to recover some of his abilities such as speech, hearing and the ability to walk. Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Hamlyn has also been an advisor on many sports committees, and has been involved at a high level in many organisations in his field. He has also written and published numerous peer-reviewed articles in medical journals.
