Mr Raj Kumar is a leading consultant orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon who specialises in bunion deformity, heel pain and ankle pain alongside sports injuries, toe surgery and nail surgery. He privately practises at Fulwood Hall Hospital, Euxton Hall Hospital, Renacres Hospital and Buckshaw Hospital, while his NHS base is Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Kumar is highly qualified with an MBBS, D (Ortho) and MS (Orth) from Kerala University, India, a FRCS and a FRCS Trauma & Orthopaedics Intercollegiate Board certificate. He then underwent higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedic surgeon in the Northwest Deanery and spent a year in Belfast where he gained further experience in trauma, including six months at a Limb Reconstruction Unit.
Mr Kumar also completed a foot and ankle fellowship at Wrightington Hospital under Mr PLR Wood and was granted a fellowship of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFASA), which he used to to develop skills in ankle arthroscopic surgery under Professor Van Dyke in Amsterdam.
