Professor Ramon Andrade De Mello is a prominent board-certified consultant medical oncologist based in London who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma) and biliary cancer, alongside pancreatic cancer, cancer of unknown primary, and gastric cancer.
As an expert in precision medicine, Professor De Mello provides cancer care that is tailored to each patient’s needs and that includes the use of targeted therapies, infusion and oral chemotherapy, and hepatic lesions such as radio-ablation/chemoembolization. Currently, Professor De Mello is a senior consultant medical oncologist for upper gastrointestinal and breast cancer at the Churchill Hospital at the Oxford Cancer Centre as well as an honorary senior clinical researcher at the renowned University of Oxford. Furthermore, since 2018, he also serves as professor, research supervisor and the chief of the medical oncology discipline at Nine of July University, where he is the director for the precision oncology and health economics research group.
With an extensive background in clinical research, Professor De Mello has participated in more than 40 industry supported and academic phase II-III clinical trials in biomarkers and immunotherapy for cancer as principal and sub-investigator. Professor De Mello is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of various professional organisations, including the European Society for Medical Oncology.
