Dr Sanjeev Bhattacharyya is a distinguished consultant cardiologist based in London. His areas of expertise include general cardiology, valvular heart disease, heart failure, and advanced echocardiography including transoesophageal echocardiography.
Dr Bhattacharyya consults privately at Cleveland Clinic Portland Place Outpatient Centre and Cleveland Clinic Moorgate Outpatient Centre. With over 20 years’ experience, he also practises at Barts Health NHS Trust and is a member of the guideline writing group for aortic stenosis, aortic regurgitation, and stress echocardiography for the British Society of Echocardiography.
Notably, Dr Bhattacharyya is the clinical lead for St Bartholomew’s Hospital and University College London Hospitals. Additionally, he has chaired or been a member of several committees within the Royal Society of Medicine and the British Heart Valve Society.
Dr Bhattacharyya qualified from the University of Manchester in 2001. He undertook higher specialist cardiology training on the renowned London Deanery, before going on to complete three prestigious fellowships. This included an advanced cardiology fellowship at Harefield Hospital, a cardiovascular imaging fellowship at Hammersmith Hospital, and another advanced echocardiography fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital.
Furthermore, Dr Bhattacharyya holds esteemed fellowship to the Royal College of Physicians, the American Society of Echocardiography, and the European Society of Cardiology. He also holds an MD from University College London for his research into acquired heart valve disease, and has published over 130 papers in international scientific journals.
