Professor Shakeel Saeed is a leading authority in Otology and Neuro-Otology, holding the prestigious Chair in this field at University College London’s Ear Institute. With over two decades of experience as a Consultant ENT and Skull Base Surgeon, Professor Saeed specializes in diagnosing and treating complex ear conditions in adults, children, and infants, practicing in both NHS and private settings.

Graduating from King’s College London in 1985 and earning a Doctorate in 2003, he served as a Consultant in Manchester from 1999 to 2008 before relocating to London. Since 2012, Professor Saeed has been the Divisional Clinical Director of the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital, where he played a key role in the hospital’s relocation to UCLH’s main campus and the implementation of its electronic health record system.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions to research, education, and clinical practice, Professor Saeed was elected President of the European Academy of Otology and Neurotology (EAONO) from 2018 to 2020, where he led European Otology initiatives and hosted the 2020 EAONO conference in London.

An accomplished educator, he leads a Master’s program in hearing, balance, facial nerve, and skull base disorders at UCL Ear Institute, mentoring national and international students and supervising multiple PhD candidates. His clinical trials and research, focused on resolving real-world otological challenges, continue to advance the field and benefit his patients.
