Dr Simon Farmer is an experienced London-based consultant neurologist with over 30 years of experience in the field. He takes special interest in diagnostic neurology, and a wide array of related conditions such as movement disorders, Parkinson's Disease, and neuro-ophthalmology. His interest in movement disorders lead to his post overseeing the St Mary's Hospital Movement Disorder service from 1996 - 2010, as he now does for the National Hospital. With a PhD in Physiology himself, he currently supervises and mentors PhD students, as well as giving seminars and lectures in the field of neurology and neuroscience. Respected by his peers, he works closely with colleagues in neuro-ophthalmology and consults on spinal cord and spinal column disorders. The Principal Investigator in the Sobell Department of Motor Neuroscience and Movement Disorders in the Institute of Neurology, he also sits on the board and is a trustee of the Bobath Foundation. His experience and dedication to research has made made him a key consultant for several tv programmes, and earned him a feature in Tatler’s Doctors Guide 2013.
