Professor Simon Wright is a leading dentist based in Manchester. He is a principal partner of Glencairn Dental group. He is also a founding director of The ICE Hospital and Postgraduate Training Centre and the Dental Implant Resource Ltd. He has established a recognised referral centre for the treatment of both mucositis and peri-implantitis.
He has developed Human Factors as a major research theme at the University of Salford and is the Chairman of The National Advisory Board in Human Factors. Professor Wright’s current interest areas are Patient Related Outcome Measures (PROM), peri-implant disease, human factors and implant dentistry. Professor Simon Wright has also co-written the algorithms that have been adopted as the standard protocols for treating peri-implant disease.
Professor Wright has also been awarded for his practice and teaching in dental implantology. He has teached, trained and mentored over 800 dentists and nurses. He lectures internationally for Astra Tech, the ITI, Straumann, Mersey Deanery, and on the MSc courses at Manchester, Salford, Sheffield and Cardiff. He is a keynote speaker to many international forums and congresses and is the co-author of the National Standards in Implant Dentistry. Professor Wright was the Director of Education for the Association of Dental Implantology (AD).
