Professional statement
Mr Stuart Roy is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon who is based in Wales. His main areas of interest are all aspects of knee surgery and sports injuries. His range of expertise includes, but is certainly not limited to, ligament reconstruction; meniscal surgery (including transplant); partial, bespoke and total knee replacement. He has performed several hundred partial knee replacements and ACL reconstructions, and has also performed thousands of knee arthroscopies.
At present, Mr Roy is one of two surgeons in Wales who can offer patients a customised knee replacement to suit their individual anatomy of the knee.
Aside from his commitment to providing first-class patient care, Mr Roy also dedicates his career to teaching as an honorary clinical teacher at Cardiff University. Additionally, he is on the faculty for various courses at the Welsh Insitute of Minimal Access Therapy at the University Hospital of Wales. Throughout his career, he has kept an active interest in research which he has presented at regional, national and international meetings.
