Mr Will Dean is a leading consultant ophthalmologist who specialises in cataracts, glaucoma and blurred vision alongside glare, ocular hypertension and cataract surgery. He privately practises at Spa Private Medical, Tetbury Hospital and Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital, while his NHS base is Gloucester Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Mr Dean, who has performed over 9,000 ophthalmic procedures, is highly qualified. He has an MBChB in Medicine from the University of Leicester, an MEd in Surgical Education from Imperial College London and a PhD in Ophthalmic Surgical Education from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He also has a fellowship from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He went onto complete his specialist ophthalmic training in the Severn Deanery.

Mr Dean is also a respected academic and is Clinical Assistant Professor at the International Centre for Eye Health, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Cape Town, South Africa. He is also a member of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists' Surgical Skills faculty. 

He also worked as a research associate at Harvard Medical School, Boston Children's Hospital, USA, and spent four years in rural Africa as CBM Ophthalmologist and Director at Nkhoma Mission Eye Hospital, Malawi. 

Mr Dean's research has been published in over 30 peer reviewed journals and he has authored a book on eye surgery. He's a member of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London (RCOpth), and is the chair of the RCOpth International Committee.
