Mr Zaed Hamady is a leading consultant general surgeon who is based in Southampton, Winchester and Portsmouth, and specialises in gallstones, hernia, liver and pancreatic surgery.
Mr Hamady qualified with an MBChB from the University of Baghdad and moved to the UK to complete his basic surgical training. He started his clinical research training in Leeds and was awarded a Royal College of Surgeons Research Fellowship in 2005 and a Medical Research Council Clinical Training Fellowship in 2006 to carry out research into the genetic engineering of a human gut bacterium.
Mr Hamady received surgical training in liver and pancreatic surgery in Leeds and obtained a firm grounding in HPB benign and cancer surgical practice, as well as liver transplant surgery.
Mr Hamady is currently examiner in the Royal College of Surgeon of England and Edinburgh, he is the secretary of the British Association of Surgical oncology and continues his research on pancreatic and liver cancer in University of Southampton
