Dr Kate Bramham is a distinguished consultant nephrologist based in London. Her areas of expertise include post-operative acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and long-term dialysis. In addition, her special interests include pre-pregnancy and antenatal care, mental health of patients with kidney problems, and kidney disease in people of African ancestry.

Dr Bramham consults privately at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Portland Place Outpatient Centre. With over 20 years’ experience, she also practises for King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and is the co-lead for the UK Rare Renal Diseases registry, as well as chair of the UK Kidney Week programme committee.

Dr Bramham completed her medical training at Oxford University and University College London in 2000. She is a member of the International Society of Nephrology and holds a PhD from King’s College London, where she is also a senior clinical lecturer at the university’s Centre of Nephrology, Urology, and Transplantation. Additionally, she is the academic lead for the UK Renal Disease in Pregnancy group.

Furthermore, Dr Bramham has authored numerous original research manuscripts, book chapters, and international lectures on renal disease, pregnancy, and ethnicity. She leads several clinical trials aimed at improving early kidney disease detection, which extend across the UK as well as Zambia and Sierra Leone.
