He was awarded a PhD in 1999 by the University of London for research on the role of Helicobacter pylori in gastro-intestinal diseases, and has developed healthcare services for managing dyspepsia and performing upper gastro-intestinal endoscopy. He has been a consultant for King College Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since his appointment in 1999.
Dr Asante is a keen researcher with extensive publications in journals such as Gastroenterology, and has been a panel member for several international gastroenterologist organisations.
