Professor Amedeo Chiribiri experto en:
Por qué es un doctor de primer nivel
Professor Amedeo Chiribiri is a globally recognised expert in cardiac imaging and cardiovascular MRI. He is currently practising at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Turin in 2001, followed by specialist training in cardiology in 2006 and a PhD in Human Physiology and Experimental Medicine in 2010. Between 2006 and 2007, Professor Chiribiri trained at the German Heart Institute Berlin (DHZB), Germany, where he specialised in cardiovascular MRI.
Since March 2008, he has served as a consultant cardiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. In April 2013, he was appointed senior lecturer in Cardiovascular Imaging at King’s College London, and later that year, he became the director of the Cardiovascular MRI Service at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. His contributions to the field were recognised with his promotion to associate professor (Reader) in Cardiovascular Imaging in 2018 and to full professor in 2020.
Professor Chiribiri’s clinical and research work focuses on advancing cardiovascular imaging, particularly cardiovascular MRI and quantitative imaging. His expertise includes the assessment of cardiac structure, function, and tissue characterisation using non-invasive imaging methods. He is also at the forefront of applying machine learning techniques to enhance scan acquisition and interpretation.
Notably, Professor Chiribiri has pioneered several techniques for the non-invasive evaluation of myocardial blood flow (perfusion) and the differential diagnosis of various causes of chest pain. Additionally, he is actively engaged in the development and validation of innovative experimental models to simulate physiological and pathological processes, further driving advancements in cardiac imaging.
