Dr Krista Farrell is a consultant neurologist at West Hertfordshire NHS Trust and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. She also serves as the clinical lead for Neurology at West Herts and was elected to the council of the Association of British Neurologists in 2024.
Dr Farrell completed her undergraduate medical training at Trinity College, Cambridge, earning an MA in Experimental Psychology. As a research fellow at the Cambridge Centre for Brain Repair, she worked on biomarkers and innovative therapeutics for Parkinson’s Disease. She completed her higher specialist training at teaching hospitals in Cambridge and London and currently serves on the clinical advisory board of Parkinson’s Care and Support UK, a leading charity in the field.
Dr Farrell has a strong commitment to medical education, having taught extensively in Cambridge and London. She is an honorary lecturer at University College London and a board member for the BSc Neurology course. She also serves as the Neurosciences Education Lead at Cleveland Clinic London and played a key role in developing the neurology curriculum at Brunel Medical School. Her passion for advancing neurological education reflects her dedication to fostering the next generation of medical professionals.
Beyond her clinical and educational roles, Dr Farrell is a strong advocate for diversity and community engagement. She has served as a BAME executive mentor at West Hertfordshire NHS Trust and led the Cambridge University African and Caribbean Alumni Society's campaign to improve COVID-19 vaccine literacy. Through these initiatives, she continues to champion equality and public health awareness.
