Mr Simon Radley

I was referred to Mr Simon Radley by Mr Alan Docherty. Mr Radley analysed my condition, and offered me the best solution to my diverticulitis, and even though I was quite concerned with the operation that was needed, Mr Radley assured me that the Operation although drastic, the outcome would be better for my future health that trying the other option which was medication. Mr Radley always made himself available if I had any queries. He and his team made all the arrangements for my hospital stay and he even made arrangements for me to see a Stoma nurse, not that I was going to need a stoma fitted, Mr Radley wanted to prepare me just in case I did after my operation, but even if I did warrant one, he stated and reassured me that it would only be temporary. Mr Radley is a very reassuring Doctor. During my stay in Hospital (I was in for 5 days) Mr Radley came and saw me at least twice a day once in the mornings and once in the afternoons to check up on me. Mr Radley even called my wife in person after my operation which we believe is nice personal touch. On my last day in Hospital I was having difficulties and wasn’t feeling well leading the hospital staff not to want to let me go home, but Mr Radley came and saw me himself and made an assessment of my condition and allowed me to go home. Mr Radley has a good bed side manner and cares about his patients needs not just physically but mentally. After my Operation with Mr Radley he had me come and see him regularly to check up on my condition state and my operation scars. I would like to say thank you to Mr Radley as I appreciated his attention to detail when it came to my patient care.

I initially saw Mr Radley in late 2019 when he recommended surgery. Covid and private insurance issues intervened and I eventually had my surgery in 2022. Mr Radley took the time to explain the surgery and the likelihood of improvement in my symptoms after the surgery. Mr Radley has been so kind throughout and the surgery has exceeded my expectations in terms of how much my symptoms have improved. I would definitely recommend Mr Radley.

An excellent experience. Following an accident, I received an emergency colostomy on the NHS and had been informed that due to a length of the bowel dying back during the operation I was unable to have a reversal. Some months later I developed a large incisional hernia and on investigation decided to consult Mr. Radley. He was extremely helpful and due to his experience he questioned the decision not to reverse. After extensive investigations and tests he was happy to carry out the reversal. I went into the Priory on Monday and left on the Friday. The whole experience was excellent.

Mr Radley performed laparoscopic surgery to repair my bilateral inguinal hernias in February 2019. From the first few moments of my initial consultation with Mr Radley I had complete confidence in him. He is rigorously professional and reassuringly confident, but unfailingly humane and empathetic, and completely lacking in hubris. That he is also supremely skilled and experienced is evident from my excellent, uncomplicated recovery. I recommend him unhesitatingly and unequivocally.

In my opinion choosing a surgeon is about confidence - does this person inspire confidence? Do they make me feel safe, do I trust them? Simon Radley is the personification of confidence, he made me feel 100% safe in his hands without the slightest hint of arrogance. At every consultation he explained what was wrong, what my options were, his opinion and the most likely outcome. His team are an extension of him, polite, friendly and helpful.
