Furthermore Mr Vats is a leading figure regarding patient safety. He piloted the WHO surgical checklist in the UK and also modified the checklist for the NHS. This list has since been mandated for use in all NHS and private surgeries around the country. He is committed to patient safety, and continues to develop programmes to integrate research and interventions into his everyday practise in order to improve patient care pathways.

Mr Jagernauth serves as the orthopaedic lead for clinical governance at North Middlesex University Hospital. His private practice is based in north London at BMI The Cavell Hospital and BMI The Kings Oak Hospital.

Mr Jagernauth trains the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and regularly teaches on courses for senior registrars preparing for their final (FRCS Tr &Orth) examinations. He was previously the national trainee representative for education for the British Elbow and Shoulder Society. He is also an examiner for students at University College London Medical School.

Mr Jagernauth is regularly invited to present nationally and internationally on his areas of expertise. Additionally, he is widely published and is a reviewer for the Shoulder and Elbow Journal. He serves an expert medical witness in medicolegal cases involving injury to the upper limb.

Professor Kotecha began having a desire to teach quite earlier on in his career, starting by teaching anatomy to medical and dental students and an anatomy demonstrator at the University of Liverpool. He has since held various medical education roles, but most prominently as an honorary senior lecturer and now his latest role as an honorary clinical professor at Barts and the London School of Medicine.

Not only has Professor Kotecha been published more than 100 times in peer-reviewed journals, has had chapters published, has published textbooks, and lectured nationally and internationally, but he has also appeared on television interviews and in popular papers.
