Dr Siva Mahendran is a highly regarded Consultant Physician specialising in Respiratory and Internal Medicine. He practises at New Victoria Hospital and specialises in cough, breathing problems, chest infection, asthma, sleep disorders and COPD.
He was appointed a Consultant at Kingston & Richmond NHS hospital in 2017, where he is the clinical lead in the management of asthma, pleural disorders and respiratory research. Dr Mahendran is also the Trust Chair of medicines management and in this and in other roles as led on numerous initiatives to enhance patient safety and improve healthcare services.
Dr Mahendran qualified in Medicine at University College London and has been on the specialist register for Respiratory Medicine since 2017. Impressively, Dr Mahendran played a pivotal role as the principal investigator at Kingston for the landmark Covid-19 Recovery clinical trial, offering critical expertise to local clinical teams and guideline committees throughout the pandemic. Additionally, he has advanced skills in bronchoscopy and ultrasound-guided pleural procedures. As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Dr Mahendran is also an accredited examiner for the RCP’s postgraduate exams.
