Mr Tafadzwa Young-Zvandasara is a leading consultant ophthalmic surgeon based in Newcastle upon Tyne. He is highly proficient in vitreoretinal surgery and cataract surgery.
Mr Young-Zvandasara consults privately at MY Eye Clinic. Since 2020, he also holds a consultant position at Newcastle Eye Centre and he additionally served as the clinical lead for the North of Tyneside and Gateshead Diabetic Eye Screening Programme from 2020 to 2023.
With over 15 years of experience, Mr Young-Zvandasara originally qualified with an MBChB from the University of Dundee. Mr Young-Zvandasara holds an MSc in Clinical Engineering from Cardiff University with Distinction and esteemed fellowship to the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Furthermore, he is also an honorary lecturer at Newcastle University and an active contributor to clinical research in the field of ophthalmology, having published several papers and abstracts. He has also presented his work at international conferences.

This surgeon is calm and reassuring whilst also being extremely competent. He did what he said he would with no complications. He explained every step as he went, which I found comforting.
