Mr Alastair Marsh is a highly experienced consultant orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in foot and ankle surgery, with a particular focus on diabetic foot conditions and bunions (hallux valgus) alongside Morton's neuroma, flat feet and hammer toe. He privately practises at The Harborne Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK, and his NHS base is Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he is known for his expertise in treating complex foot and ankle disorders.

Mr Marsh began his medical education at the University of Birmingham, where he earned his MBChB in 1995. He then pursued advanced surgical training on the prestigious South West Thames/St George's Rotation, working alongside internationally renowned surgeons. He then went on to undertake fellowship-level training in trauma and foot and ankle surgery in New Zealand and completed a fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Trauma and Orthopaedics) in 2005.

In his clinical practice, Mr Marsh is adept at addressing a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, from common issues like bunions and hammer toes to more complex deformities such as claw toes and bunionette deformities. His sub-specialties also include managing neuromas, foot strains, heel bumps, bone spurs, fractures and osteoarthritis. Additionally, he has significant expertise in sarcoma and sports injuries, providing comprehensive care for patients with traumatic and degenerative foot and ankle conditions.

Mr Marsh is actively involved in the medical community, serving as a committee member for the West Midlands Higher Training Committee for Trauma & Orthopaedics, where he contributes to the advancement of surgical education and training. He is also a member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BoFAS).

In addition to his surgical practice, Mr Marsh is the service lead for the major trauma service, overseeing the management of complex trauma cases and post-traumatic reconstructions.
