Dr Bel Kok is a consultant gastroenterologist in London specialising in Crohn’s disease, diarrhoea and indigestion (dyspepsia), and conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and short bowel syndrome. She sees patients privately at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital and Portland Place Outpatient Centre, while her NHS base is Barts Health NHS Trust.
Dr Kok completed her medical degree at the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam in 2003 and undertook her specialist training in gastroenterology and general internal medicine in London. Since 2016, she has held a consultant post at Barts Health NHS Trust. She is an experienced endoscopist and has a particular interest in the management of IBD, including during pregnancy and in young adults, as well as in nutrition and intestinal failure.
In 2009, Dr Kok was awarded a PhD for her research into cell signalling in inflammatory bowel disease.
