Dr Gaurav Chhabra is a consultant in pain medicine and anaesthesia based in Bristol, who specialises in musculoskeletal pain, pelvic pain and neuropathic pain alongside headaches and facial pain, neuromodulation and whiplash injuries. He privately practices at Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital while his NHS base is Southmead Hospital for North Bristol NHS Trust.
Dr Chhabra takes a holistic, personalised and bio-psychosocial approach to persistent pain treatment to his practice, which also includes experience in the management of back and neck pain, knee pain and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) alongside coccyx pain, abdominal pain and a variety of other musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain problems.
Dr Chhabra graduated with an MBBS from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, India, in 2000. After this, he underwent further training in anaesthetics and pain medicine at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough and St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. The latter of these leading centres is where he then completed a post CCT fellowship in neuromodulation.
Further to his reputable clinical experience, esteemed qualifications and top training, Dr Chhabra is a respected name in medical education. He is faculty tutor and regional advisor for pain medicine at the Royal College of Anaesthetists' Faculty of Pain Medicine for the southwest/Severn region.
Dr Chhabra is also a fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA), fellow by exam of the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPMRCA) and an active member of the Neuromodulation Society of UK and Ireland (NSUKI).
