Dr Lena Valik is a leading oral surgery specialist and dental implants expert based in London. She is renowned for her expertise in minor oral surgery and dental implants and practises at William Place Dental Aesthetics, a highly respected dental clinic in east London.
Dr Vakil qualified as a dentist from the University of Wales in 1991, before undertaking specialist oral and maxillofacial training. Several years later, she was appointed as a fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Throughout her esteemed career, Dr Vakil has held oral surgeon positions in various hospitals, including in Sydney, Australia where she formerly led an oral surgery unit.
In 1996, Lena established an Oral Surgery referral service in Docklands with Tower Hamlets PCT. Her referral base covered approximately 30 practices. She continues to provide a minor oral surgery service across Hertfordshire dental practices.
Dr Vikal has also obtained a postgraduate certification in dental education and has acted as a supervisor and teacher for many dental trainees and postgraduates. Additionally, she formerly served as a lecturer at St Bartholomew’s at the Royal London Hospital and Whipps Cross University Hospital, and continues to teach students via e-learning platforms.
Dr Vakil has also been involved with postgraduate dental training as a Dental Foundation Trainer and a Regional Training Programme Director.
Having this sound surgical experience Lena pursued a Diploma Course in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons (Eng) and has further completed modular courses in Implant Dentistry in the UK and furthering her clinical experience at the Ilapeo Faculty in Curitiba Brazil and the University of Sarajevo.
