Mr Mano Shanmuganathan is a leading consultant adult and paediatric neurosurgeon based in Belfast who specialises in conditions relating to both the brain and spine. His areas of expertise include endoscopy, craniofacial deformities, CSF disorders, neck pain, back pain, and pain that radiates down the arms and legs. Mr Shanmuganathan is one of the only two paediatric neurosurgeons in Northern Ireland.

With over 20 years’ experience, Mr Shanmuganathan originally qualified from the University of Leeds. He completed his basic surgical training in Yorkshire before going on to undertake higher specialist neurosurgery training in Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Notably, Mr Shanmuganathan accomplished higher sub-specialty training at the prestigious Great Ormond Street Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
