Professor Mohammad Bari is a highly experienced and respected consultant orthopaedic surgeon, based in Greater Manchester and London. He has worked in the medical field for over 40 years and specialises in knee & hip surgery, focusing principally on knee arthroscopy, meniscal (keyhole) surgery and hip replacement, as well as knee replacenent, robotic surgery and ACL reconstruction.
Professor Bari graduated with a MBBS in Calcutta in 1982 and moved to England in 1990, where he began to undertake post-graduate training. He quickly developed a specialist interest in trauma and orthopaedics and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995. He later obtained a master in orthopaedic surgery and a further fellowship in trauma and orthopaedics
He is highly skilled in various knee and hip surgeries, in particular cruciate ligament reconstruction, cartilage injuries, osteochondral defect resurfacing and tendinopathies surrounding the knee.
Professor Bari is committed to educating future medics, currently undetaking a post as both a tutor and examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons and trains speicallist orthopaedic registrars from the Northwest Deanery. Additionally, he is involved in audit and research, and has presented his research findings in research publications, as well as at national and inernational meetings.
He is also a member of numerous professional organisations, including The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the British Association for Surgery of the Knee and the British Indian Orthopaedic Society.
